As it's the soft launch version of the site, I thought I'd do a google and stick ‘Beta’ in.
It means there lots of new features still to come, and if you spot a bug, please let me know!
To see some older work, view v9!

Birds Eye View Blog

bev blog

Birds Eye View celebrates & supports international women filmmakers.

Founded as a short film event in 2002, they registered as a charity in 2004, launched the UK’s first major women’s film festival in 2005, and are now developing year-round activity with their First Weekenders Club, BEV Labs, touring programme and online community.

They are a great organisation, and I’ve been to many of their events myself, I highly recommend them.

They called me in earlier this year to help them with their blog. It was looking a little dated and wasn’t displaying exactly what they wanted it to, to get people interested in whats going on.

So I gave it a face lift, added some new features like their twitter feed, and a search for blog articles, making it much easier for users to find the stories they are looking for, and allowing BEV to utilise their twitter account more fully.

Both those sections needed designing from scratch, but to fit in with their existing style, and I think they work very nicely, as well as some other colours I experimented with in the right sidebar to get things to pop out a little more and look more enticing.

I also revised the general style of their blog, as it runs from the WordPress theme, and has its own styles and templates, it didn’t quite match up with what the rest of the site looked like, but I was able to pull all this in together a lot more, and it really has more impact as a result.

Check it out, and if you need a quick facelift for your blog, get in touch!
