As it's the soft launch version of the site, I thought I'd do a google and stick ‘Beta’ in.
It means there lots of new features still to come, and if you spot a bug, please let me know!

Neville Brody Breakfast Lecture

anti design festival

Excuse the poor quality photo, this was taken on an iPhone 3G (later that day I had an iPhone 4, but alas, it was too late)

This was a shot from the Neville Brody breakfast chat I went to recently (about a month ago anyway) at the Design Museum.

It kicked off at about 8am, which was a real shock to the system, being a freelancer, getting up at 6.30am is a rarity for me, but it was worth it to listen to a very informative chat from one of the most influential designers in the UK (world?).

I managed to stay awake throughout, which is a skill I sadly lacked in my university lecture days, and Mr Brody had a lot to say about the London Design festival, as well as his “Anti Design Festival” which was taking place in the east end of London. I wasn’t able to attend, so can’t really comment, but from what he described, it was a fun and free environment to try out some new skills, and basically do whatever you wanted!

Neville talked a lot about the future of design in the UK, and of the number of design graduates per year, vs. the number of jobs actually available, which made me pretty damn glad I’m not just starting out now!

Anyway, too late to see him talk, OR go to his festival, and the photo is terrible quality, so fairly pointless post, sorry…

I promise to write more on this one, it obviously affected me more than I thought, what with the lack of memory about what the hell happened there…
