As it's the soft launch version of the site, I thought I'd do a google and stick ‘Beta’ in.
It means there lots of new features still to come, and if you spot a bug, please let me know!

Wight Kitchen

Jo from wight kitchen

Along with designer Mandy Sherliker, I recently completed a site for an Isle of Wight based kitchen that is now supplying many top end food outlets in London with their locally sourced Isle of Wight produce.

It was a fun project to work on, Mandy and one of her photographers, Keiko, headed down to the isle of Wight, got the place looking great and took some lovely photos, that really make the website stand out.

I whipped up a little JQuery gallery to display 3 images per page (recently adapted to automatically scroll through them for the Genesis project), and along with a bit of typeface.js to get the Helvetica Light font from the design as closely matched as possible for the website, it all came together to look brilliant.

The site also looks great on the iPad and iPhone, mor from the use of nice clean code in the first place than any specific customisation for the mobile devices. Soon, I’ll be testing for Android as well, so hopefully its looking good on there!

Pates

I think if I was to work on this project again, I would probably try out Cufon instead of typeface as a text replacement, as it seems to be much more versatile, we’ll see on the next project, so watch this space!

Check out the project for yourself!
